Date nights are designed to bring you and your spouse together to engage in strengthening your marriage and building community. These events are opportunities for heroes in your area to come together and develop a community of people that want to grow in their own marriages and also encourage others to grow in theirs!

HOST

Are you feeling called to provide a space for first responder and military couples to grow in their marriage? Let us help you! Impact Iowa’s Heroes has developed a “date night in a box” that will help get you everything you need to host a date night. We will provide the coaching videos, the materials that go along with each video, and some added extras for your heroes to enjoy. We will even pay for the food to feed the couples that attend your date night. Email Aaron Groves at aaron@iaheroes.org to learn more about how you can host a date night in your area.

Where can I host a date night at?

Anywhere you feel led to! We have had date nights hosted at churches, community centers, agencies, and even in the garage bay of a fire department.

What all comes in the box?

We send you folders with worksheets for couples to fill out during video discussion time, we send IIH pens, IIH stickers, a flash drive with videos and any relevant word docs in case you need to print more, and a small gift to give away to one lucky couple at the end of the night. We also mail a pre addressed / stamped envelope to mail back the flash drive.

Who all can come to a date night?

Any Iowa Hero in your area or neighboring areas. Our marriage video material is relevant to first responder and military couples.

How do we get food for the date night?

As the host couple we need you to order the food and schedule delivery to your date night location. We have found that it is easiest for our host couples to pay for the food, submit a receipt to Sarah at sarah@iaheroes.org and we mail you a check.

Give me the short answer, what are the host’s responsibilities?

Securing a location, ordering and arranging for the food, welcoming couples on date night, playing the marriage videos, spearheading large group or table discussion.
